Built in 1796 by Joseph Olman, this three story stucco building originally functioned as Smitty's Cabinet Shop on the first floor with a residence occupying the second and third floor. In 1982, the house was awarded the highly coveted Preservation Society of Charleston's Carolopolis Award which recognizes outstanding achievement in exterior preservation, restoration and rehabilitation. In 2015,this elegant single French Quarter house was completely restored with modern accoutrements while maintaining the original mantled fireplaces, moldings and wainscoting. A large modern Jenn Air appointed kitchen with custom granite, expresso bar,fireplace,Apple TV and cabinetry by Kirk Hendricks, a local acclaimed cabinet maker, overlooks a walled garden. The expansive living room/dining room with a fireplace and high ceilings is open and elegant.The Master Bedroom on the second floor welcomes you with the glow from the fireplace and a boutique styled bathroom.
