Welcome to Oatland

87.6 Acres in Georgetown, SC | $1.2M

The perfect place to get away . . . and get together.

This 87-acre property fully encompasses two important categories: Family getaway, and entertainment spot. With its six-bedroom house, tricked-out party barn, huge lawn dotted with oaks and pines, pond, creek, duck impoundment, and dock on Black River, Oatland is an inviting, turn-key gem.

“This place is just cool!”

As my 8-year old son said when he recently saw Oatland for the first time, “This place is just cool!”

Situated a few miles north of downtown Georgetown, SC, Oatland is an easy drive from Litchfield, Pawleys, and Mount Pleasant. The spacious, laid-back house can sleep 18 people and house, feed, and entertain even more. Its standing seam roof, pecky cypress walls and beautiful pine floors are just a few of the details that make the well-kept house classic, rustic, cozy in winter, and comfortable in hot Carolina summers (the patio swimming pool helps too!).

The open air “barn” sits across the lawn on the bluff of a small creek, and “barn” really doesn’t do it justice. Among other thing the setup includes a huge double fireplace, flatscreen, custom bar tables, hammock swings, horseshoe pit, putting green, boat/ATV washdown pad, locked equipment stall, and the coup de gras — an old restored airstream camper converted into a cocktail bar.

The impoundment is fully diked and it drains and floods with rice trunks and an electric pump. It’s a great teal and wood duck pond with plenty of flooded timber and natural grasses, and it could be drained and planted if an owner wanted to do so. On the far side of the duck pond, the river dock sits on a deep stretch of Black River — navigable from that spot to upriver haunts or downtown Georgetown, Winyah Bay, and the ocean.
