The historic duck use of the Wateree River Basin plays an integral factor in the successful hunting that takes place at The Refuge. The impoundment was originally built in the 1980’s, and has had prominent success. Located just fourteen miles north of the Lake Marion headwaters, The Refuge is in a prime waterfowl region.
The Refuge has 4 miles of frontage on the Wateree River. There are currently no conservation easements on the property. Structures include:
- 6,500 sq ft Main Residence (8,200 sq ft Including Porches) with Pool
- 3,200 sq ft Guest Cottage
- 1,500 sq ft Shed
- 3,800 sq ft Pole Barn
